MAC model 1950

The MAC model 1950 is a semi-automatic Pistolet (PHOTO 1) and was developed in 1950.

Developed and product by the Munitions factory of Chatellerault (MAC), then by the Munitions factory of Saint Etienne (FARMHOUSE), his carcass carries markings MAC/MAS (on the left) and Modèle 1950 (on the right) thus making it call familiarly MAC 50 or FARMHOUSES 50 by the soldier and police French.

The Munitions factory of Chatellerault manufactured 221.900 specimens of March 1953 at June 1963 then manufacture was taken again by the Munitions factory of Saint Etienne who manufactured 120.000 of November 1963 of them at April 1978.

This weapon enters in service the Army French, as of the beginning of the year 1960 under the incorrect name of Pa MAC 50 : Pa like Automatic Gun whereas its operation makes a semi-automatic gun of it strictly .

Principle of operation: the percussion is carried out by apparent hammer, the short recoil of the gun by direct action of gases allows the movement of the cylinder head, the return forwards being carried out thanks to the decompression of the spring recuperator.
