M85
M85 (or NGC 4382 ) is a lenticular Galaxie, of S0 type, located in the Chevelure of Bérénice and discovered in 1781 by Pierre Méchain and added by Charles Messier to his catalog.
Characteristics
M85 is, in the Catalog Messier, the most septentrional member of the Virgo Cluster, and is thus located in the Constellation of Hair of Bérénice. It is a luminous lenticular galaxy (S0) which, on many points, seems to be the binocular of M84. It appears only made up of a population of old women yellow stars.
