M-325

In the history of the Cryptography, the M-325 , also named SIGFOY , was an American machine of coding with rotors designed by William F. Friedman in 1936. Between 1944 and 1946, more than 1100 models were deployed at the American Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Its use ceased in 1946 because of defects. Friedman made an patent application for M-325 the August 11th 1944; it was granted the March 17th 1959 (patent n° 2877565).

Like Enigma, M-325 contains three intermediate rotors and a rotor reflectors.
