Mützenich
Mützenich is a village of the commune of Montjoie, located at the south of Aachen, in edge of the plate of the High Fagnes.
The village has the effect of being a German Enclave , surrounded by the Belgian territory . As devoted by the Treated of Versailles at the end of the First World War, the Vennbahn, local railway line connecting Aachen to Luxembourg, was yielded to Belgium. Mützenich, located at the east of the line, chooses by popular consultation to remain German.
