Mürren
Mürren is a village of some 450 inhabitants, located at 1 638 meters of altitude above a high cliff surmounting the Lauterbrunnental in the canton of Bern, in Swiss. It offers a formidable panorama of the famous trio Eiger - Mönch - Jungfrau as well as all valley of Lauterbrunnen. The access in the car not being possible there, passengers and goods must be transported by Funiculaire and Train or by Téléphérique.
Mürren has its own school, two churches like several hotels and number of apartments of holidays adding up more 2 000 beds.
Access
The access to Mürren is in general ensured by the companies BLM (Bergbahnen Lauterbrunnen - Mürren) and LSMS (Luftseilbahnen Stechelberg - Mürren- Schilthorn). Depuisl December 2006, the funicular since Lauterbrunnen was replaced by a cable car between Lauterbrunnen and Grütschalp. It is also possible to take the postal bus between Lauterbrunnen Bahnhof and Stechelberg LSMS . For the travellers in the car, there exist two carparks, in Lauterbrunnen and right before Stechelberg, close to the station of the cable car LSMS which joined Mürren by Gimmelwald.
