Mörfelden-Walldorf

Mörfelden-Walldorf is a German city near Francfort-sur-le-Main. It is located in the district of Groß-Gerau of the German Land of Hesse. It counts 32  751 inhabitants.

History

The Town of Mörfelden-Walldorf was created on January 1st 1977. It is known in the whole of Germany for the fight the many ones of its inhabitants against the extension of the very close airport of Frankfurt.

The Walldorf part of the city was founded towards the end of XVIe century, beginning of the XVIIe century by French Huguenots colonists, and Swiss French-speaking people of which certain family names, and street names of the locality let it suggest.
