The Mésoprotérozoïque is the second era Protérozoïque. It extends from -1.600 to -1.000 My.
Subdivisions
Three systems or periods constitute Mésoprotérozoïque:-
the Calymnien (from 1.600 to -1.400 My);
- the Ectasien (from -1.400 to -1.200 My);
- the Sténien (from -1.200 to -1.000 My).
Major events
The Supercontinent Rodinia is formed. The reproduction sexuée appears.
