Méropénem

The méropénem (Belgium, Switzerland) or méropénèm (France) is a Antibiotique class of the Carbapénème S.

It is indicated in the case of infections:

  • complicated intra-abdominal
  • complicated of the urinary tracts
  • pelvic
  • bacterial meningitides
  • pneumonia

Side effects

The side effects can included:
  • Turbid gastro-intestinal
  • Irritation with the site of infection
  • Rash, fever
  • hemodynamic Turbid Convulsions
  • : leucopenia, neutropenia, éosinophilie
  • Rise in the hepatic enzymes

One must adjust the amounts according to the renal clearance.

Pediatric amounts exist for babies in-arms of more than 3 months.
