Méniskos
The méniskos (in Greek: μηνισκος) was a kind of sunshade, out of metal, being used to protect the statues exposed in the open air, and in particular on the acropolis of Athens. Its role was to prevent the birds and other birds to be posed on the head of the sculpture and to damage it. The méniskos is mentioned in the comedy of Aristophane the Birds , v. 1114-1117.
