Ménil

Ménil is a common French, located in the department of the the Vosges and the area Lorraine. It is not rare that it is named Ménil-Thillot to distinguish it in particular from Ménil-with-Senones.

Its inhabitants is called Guédons.

Geography

The commune niche between the valleys of the the Moselle and the Moselotte, where the collar of Ménil - or collar of Fenesses - (621 m) an easy passage between allows Thillot and Cornimont. The surrounding tops offer superb points of view like the table of orientation of the Tête of the Fields and the Grande Rock . Culminating point: top of the Red Grass (1108 m).

History

The village was a long time a hamlet attached to the round of applause of Ramonchamp. It took its independence in 1735 while becoming a parish then had the statute of commune under the Revolution.
