Mégatron

Mégatron is the name given to two fictitious characters, one of the series " Transformers ", the other of the series Animutants and Beast Machines: Transformers. He is always the chief of the decepticans, the prédators or the véhicans and the " méchant" of its series.

Transformers

Mégatron

In Transformers, Mégatron is the chief of the Decepticans, people of extraterrestrial robotics alive on the Cybertron planet, and which dream to conquer the Universe (contrary to the other faction of the same race, the Autobots, which is peaceful and wants to defend the human ones). It is the exact opposite of its Autobot equivalent, Optimus precedes, and certain versions, like film, even present them as being brothers (although one does not know what " means; frère" at Cybertroniens). Mégatron is in this version a tyrannical and machiavelic chief, strategic and extremely powerful genius. It is always armed with a destroying atomic gun, and with the capacity to transform itself into various types of vehicles according to the versions (Jet cybertronien, tank…), and generally takes the shape of a gun of the Second World War on dimensioned, which can be used as arms by another Deceptican, because Mégatron can also change its size in this case. To avoid the change of its size, too judged " triche" , and to undoubtedly avoid the ridiculous one of such a form, the film rather presents it under the fashion conveys Jet Cybertronien combat, with nevertheless always its gun, which it then creates by amalgamating its hands.

The versions vary on the end which Mégatron knows. In film, he dies, consumed by the energy of Allspark, arctefact of which he wanted to seize. In the television series, it abandoned with half is damaged in space by its second, Starscream, which wished to take its place. This second version will lead the tyrant to be recovered by another Deceptican, Unicron, which will rebuild it and will re-elect it Galvatron.

Galvatron

After having been abandoned with half destroys by Starscream, Mégatron was recovered by Unicron, the alive planet, which repaired it and made an offer to him: in exchange of a new army, it should from now on fight for its account. Rather unwillingly, Mégatron accepted, and became Galvatron.
Once repaired, it had become rather different from what it was in the beginning: its alternative mode was from now on a futuristic gun/laser gun. It tried to separate from Unicron and taken again the command of Decepticans by eliminating Starscream, but its Master obliged it to return towards him by mental torture.

Animutants

In " Animutants" , Mégatron is the chief of the prédators and the " descendant" of Mégatron of " Transformers" (it is thus sometimes called " Mégatron 2" or " Beast Mégatron" to make the difference). Just as Mégatron 1 is opposed to Optimus precedes, Mégatron 2 is the adversary of primal Optimus, descendant direct of Optimus precedes.

History

Mégatron was a renegade chief prédator escaped of the Cybertron planet after having stolen gold the disc, a relic maximum with the mysterious properties. Its goal, badly known at the beginning, was to travel in time to arrive at prehistory on Earth and to change the court of the things so that Decepticans override Autobots. On the way, its vessel ran up against the vessel of primal Optimus, and the two machines, after having both travelled in time, were crushed on same planet. Forced to take, like the others prédators, an animal fashion, Mégatron taken the shape of a tyrannosaure.

It undertaken thereafter to fight the maximals and to join together the énergon necessary to arrive at its ends and to conquer the galaxy. Thus the war of Animutants started.

Even if, like its ancestor, the image of Mégatron is before all that of a tyrant malefic and worrying, he is often ridiculed, either by the enlargement of his defects, in particular his megalomania, or while being made overcome regularly (In " Agent double" , Dinobot makes him lose a tooth by striking it with the face) or is still while being seen in ridiculous activities: one can thus see it making roller with the wheels of his feet in " New arrivants" , or even, roof of ridiculous, to take its bath with a plastic duck in " Feral scream" and " Crossing the Rubicon". One can even see it chairing a lawsuit with a wig of judge in " Other Victories".

Character

Mégatron is a good chief from the tactical point of view: it is a talented strategist, a skilful policy and an excellent warrior. Unfortunately, it has also many defects which play against its favor: it is a true tyrant without scruple, which martyrise the majority of its warriors, is arrogant, accumulates the lies (including its side) and critical in a scorning way the defects of its forces. For him, its prédators is only pawns which must obey to him. This attitude is worth to him to have only very few warriors worthy of his confidence (Scorpinor and Inferno), the majority betraying it, either to seize the power to him (Dinobot and Terrosaure), or for the simple hatred which they test towards him (Tarentula), or because they are done had (Byznator and Black Veuve), or or even because he threatens their existence (the Black Widow). Some will go even until joining the maximals (Dinobot, then the Black Widow).

Moreover, Mégatron megalomaniac and is assoiffé of being able and conquest, as its ambitions prove it. It is also cruel, machiavelic and of being wary nature (what is justified). It punctuates its assertion of " without delay; oui" and its negations of " non" , like insisting on top.

Description

Season 1
In season 1, Mégatron is, in animal mode, a purple tyrannosaure with the blazing red eyes, with a green column along the back. In robot mode, its head of tyrannosaure becomes its right hand and its tail a grip being used to him as left hand. Its belly of animal mode becomes its back, and its feet remain the same one, if it is not that the thighs of tyrannosaures form lance-missiles. Its robot-like face, capped of a marked helmet of the symbol prédator, spouts out of its chest of robot. Among its many weapons, one included his two missile launchers on the legs, its head of tyrannosaure, which can bite or to draw from the laser purple and its tail grips, which can also draw from the missiles.

Season 2
In season 2, Mégatron became transmétal. It is from now on, in animal mode, a black and gild-dark tyrannosaure with a yellow head violet and eyes. In mode conveys, the propeller-engines leave on its thigh, allowing him to fly, and of the casters jaissent of its heels.

In robot mode, its corp opens into two to form its shoulder pads, and its head drops to form its chest. Its tail becomes grip-arms with shooting held in its right hand, and its arms of tyrannosaure of the retractable guns laser. Its propellers always enable him to fly, and its face of robot is same as front one.

Season 3
During the majority of season 3, Mégatron remains transmétal. Then, in " Master Blade" , it seizes for a time the " Arche" , ancient vessel Autobot, and finds there its ancestor Deceptican, Mégatron I, unconscious. It withdraws the vital spark then from it and tries to integrate it into its body, but this one fights, paralyzing it a time. Tarentula and Quickstrike benefit from it to betray it, and throw it in the lava, but that accelerates the transformation, and Mégatron leaves the volcano a little later, in the form of powerful a transmétal 2 with animal mode of red dragon with yellow wings.

In this form, its robot fashion approaches more the old one: its head of dragon becomes its left arm, and allows him to launch fire and rays of ice. Its tail forms its helmet, from where its robot-like face, become spouts out gray. its wings remain in all the fashions, enabling him to fly. Its legs before dragons enclose its chest.

Beast Machines: Transformers
Mégatron II reappears in its form of transmétal 2 as of season 1 of Beast machines, or it took the control of Cybertron thanks to the new faction of transformers which it created: Véhicans (or Véhicons). It does not leave any more its unit control, from where it directs them, and always fights the maximals. Its self-centredness is exacerbated even more than front, and it from now on adopted a bad ideal, according to which Cybertron should be inhabited only by only one purely technological race, not polluted by the organic life. For this reason, it makes pursue all the transformers equipped with animals modes (inter alia, the Maximals…) and tries to destroy any organic life. From now on, the character is not any more ridiculed, and is a seriously dangerous adversary, although it fights only rarement.
At the end of season 1, Tankor/Rhinox reprograms the Diagnosis Drone of Mégatron to its use, and uses it to handle the chief of Véhicons, with an aim of bringing it to entretuer with primal Optimus. This plan functions, until primal Optimus destroys accidentally Cybertron…
At the beginning of season 2, after Cybertron was saved of accuracy, Mégatron is reported missing. It is discovered whereas it lost its animal fashion and its heart, becoming an immense vessel in the shape of head and without vital spark. Its spark is actually preserved in Sauvage/Noble, which gets rid some while giving it in the vessel head. Having begun again body in this one, Mégatron revives véhicons them and takes again their command.
