Presentation

Its Piacevoli notti (in two volumes 1550 - 1555) is a collection of Conte S folk Italian, and was a sharp success. Its influence on the tales was very important. One owes him in particular a version of the Beautiful one and the Animal , former to those of Mesdames of Villeneuve (1740) and Leprince de Beaumont (1757). It is as in the facetious Nuits as for the first time the tale of the cat boot appears.
