Léopoldine de Bragance

The princess Léopoldine de Bragance (1847 - 1871), is the second girl of the emperor Pierre II of Brazil (1825 - 1891) and of Marie-Therese of Deux-Siciles (1822 - 1889). She is the sister of Isabelle de Bragance (1846 - 1921), imperial princess, regent of Brazil.

She married the prince Auguste of Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha (1842 - 1922), from which descends the current line from Saxony-Cobourg-Gotha. Initially its promised was Gaston of Orleans (1842-1922) the Count of Have, but it is his/her sister who married it.

She dies of typhus on February 7th, 1871 at the time of a voyage in Europe.
