Lyons economy

Lyon and its area fall under an economic dynamic which in fact a gravitational European space and the second large development pole of France. The last European classifications classify the Lyons metropolis among the first twenty European and the ambition is to gain the fifteenth rank of gravitational in Europe.

Institutions

The town of Lyon works in partnership with the local public actors to facilitate the creation and the installation of the companies on its territory, the Economic Development agency of Region of Lion (ADERLY), the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Lyon and the Grand Lyon.

Lyon is the seat of the Regional court of trade and industry of the Rhone-Alps.

Commercial tradition

The city built its development on the marketing activities and financial. The fairs and the establishment of Italian bankers to the Rebirth, allowed a growth of the city.

Manufacturing tradition

The Region of Lion has a tradition of textile manufactures. The trade of the Silk and the treatment of this one involved a textile know-how which became an activity of choice at the 18th century.
