Henri Ier Beauclerc, king of England and wire of William the Conqueror, dies there on February 1st 1135
- Enguerrand de Marigny. Resulting from the family the Gatekeeper who during the 12th century held the hereditary guard of the door (still visible vestiges on the " motte") ducal castle of Lyons.
