Lyoba
Lyoba , lyòba or lyôba (Ranz of the Cows) is a traditional song of the cowherds in the Canton of Freiburg in Suisse.
History
He is usually sung during the rise of the herds to the mountain pasture and the return in the cattle sheds at the end of the summer. The cows remain all the summer in the pastures in altitude. The term comes from the Patois ayôbo (to call the cattle).The legend wants that the Swiss Mercenaire S from went away (even deserted) from the battle fields when they heard this " ode" who pointed out too their native Switzerland to them.
Interpretation most often quoted is that of Bernard Romanens, soloist of the Fête of the vine growers of 1977.
