Lymphopenia

A lymphopenia is characterized by a number of Lymphocyte S lower than the normal at the time of a Hémogramme, that is to say less than 1500 per mm ³. A light lymphopenia exists naturally in part of the population, it is really worrying only if it goes down under the 1000 lymphocytes per mm ³.
Possible causes

a viral infection (sometimes bacterial) for example the AIDS, with an activity of destruction of certain lymphocytes by HIV
- a prolonged corticothérapie
- a Chemotherapy
- certain autoimmune diseases
- a congenital deficit
- certain tumors, for example a lymphoma Hodgkinien
- infection by the parvovirus B19
