Located at the confluence of the the Alzette and the Pétrusse, Luxembourg , commonly called of Stad (“the City” in Luxembourg language) and more rarely called Gibraltar of North or the green Heart of Europe (because of its fortifications and its greenery), is the Capitale Grand-Duché of Luxembourg.
History
The city developed at the 10th century starting from a Château builds in 963 by the of the Ardennes count Sigefroid on the rock of the Glass of bier. The castle rose on the vestiges of a Roman Castellum called Lucilinburhuc (“small castle”).

European capital

Town planning
