Lutterbach

Lutterbach is a common French located in the western suburbs of Mulhouse. It belongs to the department Haut-Rhin and area Alsace.

Its inhabitants is called the Lutterbachois and the Lutterbachoises .

Places and monuments

  • the Basilica Sacred Heart, built between 1905 and 1907.
  • the place of the Basilica, with in particular a communal well of 1668, a plane tree bicentenary and the statue of St-Jean Népomucène of 1744 against the floods
  • Sanatorium or medical center Lalance (1910 - 1912): built by the Alsatian architect Paul Friesé. With been used as military hospital during the First World War, then starting from 1951, it becomes a center of pneumo-phthisiology managed by the regional case of health insurance.

Jean-Julien Weber, born in 1888 with Lutterbach, bishop of Strasbourg of 1945 to 1966.
