Lutomiersk

Lutomiersk is a commune of Poland which counts 1.400 inhabitants (1999). It is in the district ( powiat ) of Pabianice, which belongs to the Voïvodie de Łódź. The commune is located in the valley of the Ner.

The Village owes its name with a Guerrier called Lutomir which, at the 11th century, built small a extremely at a place where one crossed Ner. The Commerce develops very quickly. In 1274, Lutomiersk receives the urban Privilège S of the hands of Lech II the Black. After its death, the area returns to Ladislas Ier the Brief. Today, the locality belongs to the Banlieue of Łódź. A Tramway connects the commune to the Capitale of the Voïvodie. The current church dates from the 18th century.

An old man Cemetery of the beginning of the 11th century, discovered in 1949, is located in the commune. One finds there 150 Tombe S of indigenous S and people originating in the Rus' of Kiev. It is interesting to note that many inhabitants bear names originating in Rus'.
