Lunokhod 2

Lunokhod 2 is the second of the two motorized robots sent on the the Moon by the Soviet Union during the program Lunokhod. The vessel which transported Lunokhod 1 called Luna 21.

Masse dries in orbit: 4850 kg

The main objectives of the missions were to collect images of the surface of the moon, to examine the levels of ambient light to determine the fesability of astronomical observations since the Moon, to observe the solar x-rays, to measure the local magnetic fields and to study the soil properties lunar physics.

The mission was supplemented the June 4th 1973, lasted 4 months, the robot will parcoura a total of 37 km, returning 86 Panorama S and more than 80.000 photographs. Much test mesureset other experiments were supplemented during this mission.
