Luna 11
Luna 11 (also called Lunik 11 or Object 02406 ) was the eleventh Soviet probe of the Programme Luna.
Luna 11 was launched towards the the Moon since an intermediate terrestrial orbit and placed in lunar orbit the August 28th 1966. The objectives of the mission included the study:
- of the lunar emissions X and gamma in order to determine the chemical composition of the Moon
- gravitational anomalies of the Moon
- of the density of flows of meteorites in lunar orbit
- of the intensity of radiations in the lunar area
