Luke Skywalker is the main character of the original trilogy Star Wars (episodes IV to VI). It appears in the Revenge of Sith , a new hope , the Empire counter-attacks , the Return of Jedi , in the series of video games Jedi Knight such as Mysteries off the Sith , Jedi Outcast , Jedi Academy as well as many novels. He is interpreted with the Cinéma by Mark Hamill. George Lucas dedicated the first name of the character starting from his clean name .

Description

Luke is a human châtain with the eyes green It measures 1,72 Mr. C' is a knight Jedi, wire of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala. It has a twin sister, Leia Organa. Married to Mara Jade, he is the father of Ben Skywalker.

In its youth, Luke was of an ingenuous, emotive and impatient nature. Contrary to his/her father, however, it succumbed forever to the obscure side of the Force, preferring even to let itself attack rather than to succumb to hatred and revenge. But the Skywalker young person however was tried, at least twice: during its second duel with its father (access of rage when this last evokes his/her sister), then later in the facts reported in the Black Saber . Biography

Episode III: the Revenge of Sith

Very little time after its childbirth on the Astéroïde of Polis Massed, Padmé Amidala dies. It has just time to choose the names of her children: Luke and Leïa. At the same moment with Coruscant, the embanked body of Anakin Skywalker is rebuilt bioniquement by the Emperor Palpatine and Anakin becomes officially and definitively Dark Vador.

So that the Sith cannot use their capacities to locate the children, Yoda decides to entrust Leïa to Bail Organa which will take it along on Alderaan, whereas Obi-Wan Kenobi share on Tatooine to entrust Luke to the half-brother by alliance of Anakin, Owen Lars. Obi-Wan leaves as for him to hide in the desert of Tatooine, becoming hermit and taking the pseudonym of Ben .

Its youth

Luke saw an austere childhood on Tatooine. His/her uncle Owen Lars and his aunt Beru Whitesun never revealed the existence of his sister to him nor the past of his father, claiming simply that he was a “pilot of conveying spice vessels”. Luke is very skilful in repair of Droïde S and in piloting of vessels. It shares its passion with a friend, Biggs Darklighter, which wishes to join the Alliance rebels.

Not wanting that Luke enlise in conflicts as his/her father did it, Owen and Beru after a fashion try to contain its heats. Owen sees in the same way of an evil eye the relation as Luke maintains with the “old man Ben”, last bond with Anakin.

Until the 20 years age, Luke grows as a simple farm hand.

Episode IV: a new hope

Owen buys one day two Droïde S with merchants jawa S: C-3PO and R2-D2. Luke learns that these droïdes was sent in the search of Obi-Wan Kenobi by the Leïa princess. Seeking R2-D2 whereas he fled, Luke and C-3PO are attacked by Hommes of Sands. Ben Kenobi saves them in time, and after having revealed that he was formerly a Jedi Master called Obi-Wan Kenobi, he asks Luke to follow it to Alderaan to help it to save Leïa. Luke is initially reticent but accepts after having learned that Shock troops of the Empire assassinated Owen and Beru during its absence.

With the Cantina of Mos Eisley, Luke is caused by a mercenary, Ponda Baba; Ben intervenes and regulates quickly the dispute while cutting the arm of Ponda to the laser Saber. Then Ben negotiates a flight on board the Faucon Millenium with the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca. Luke agrees to sell its Landspeeder in order to pay the voyage.

Arrived at destination, the group discovers that Alderaan was disintegrated by a new weapon of the Empire: the Black Star. Infiltrating Star, Luke and Han release the Leïa princess and escape from accuracy. Nevertheless, Luke attends impotent dead (connect) of the Ben old man engaged in a duel with Dark Vador.

On the basis rebel of Yavin IV, Luke agrees to take part in the attack against Black Star, the more so as he discovers his friend of also committed Biggs childhood. During this titanic battle, Luke with the sliced hand, and Dark Vador announces to him that he is his father. It throws top of the ventilating shaft and is helped by his sister to whom it launches a telepathic message.

A few months later, Luke returned on Tatooine to build its laser saber. But a gang wanted to kill it and it was saved by Dash Rendar. Luke learned that Rendar could be useful to him during the flight of the plans of the Star of Dead the. Rendar as Luke succeeded in escaping with the stolen plans of the imperial cargo liner suprosa. Luke and Rendar left for Coruscant to deliver the princess Leïa Organa Prince Xizor. They succeeded in recovering Leïa and left to the continuation Xizor. It finds his friends and sees the three Jedi spectra.

the Return of the Admiral Thrawn

It is at the time of this saga that Luke met for the first time Mara Jade. Together, it will overcome the clone of Joruus It baoth, Joruus It baoth, that Ci being combined with the Lord High Admiral Thrawn, who wanted to become the new empeuror while being based on the imperial technologies located in the deposit of the mount Tantiss (tank of cloning, furtive shields…). Jedi Knight: Mysteries off the Sith

At the time of the events which led Kyle on Dromund Kaas, Luke on its side, had been removed by the Empereur Palpatine réincarné which took it along on Byss. It decided to become its disciple but missed destroying it interior.

Luke was in the saga Jedi Outcast. This time he is Jedi Master and rebuilt the Jedi order. In this saga, Luke particularly helps the knight Jedi Kyle Katarn in its search of revenge on old Jedi named Desann. Luke left in Cairn to stop Desann but it was constrained to let it flee in the Doomgiver . It crossed the base of Cairn to its vessel where it could flee not without warning the Rogue squadron to destroy the base after the destruction of the Doomgiver . Thereafter, it turns over on Yavin IV where it asks Kyle to join it and this one accepted with its great surprise but what increases its surprise, it is that it lost its anger of revenge of his father towards Jerec.

The attack of Yavin IV

A few months after the events of Jedi Outcast , Luke was imprisoned by the Imperial ones on Yavin IV. Kyle released it and Luke informs it that the attack is conducted by Ghost rebels and not by Tavion as Kyle thought it. Luke left for an Impérial outpost and succeeds in being left there. He discovered with misfortune that it was Tavion but he does not say anything to Kyle, for fear its anger reappears.

Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy

In this saga, Luke became a Jedi lord while the knight Jedi Kyle Katarn became Jedi Master. This time, Luke helps two Jedi, Jaden Korr and Rosh Penin. Luke will help them to elucidate some enigmas with Kyle and in premium, it comes during one from the missions from Jaden which is on Yalara where it must decontaminate a camouflage. Afterwards, Luke left on Korriban to stop Tavion. But when it arrives at the foot of the tomb of Marka Ragnos with Kyle, Jaden will have already overcome Tavion and Ragnos. Thereafter, it leaves for the academy where Rosh was made graft a cybernetic arm. Shortly after its marriage with Mara Jade, Luke had to face tens of Yuuzhan Vong. Its soft fell sick and Chewbacca lost the life on Sernpidal. The Nouvelle Republic was touched by this loss.

The more the invasion advanced, the more Jedi were in danger of death. For this reason Luke attacked Yuuzhan' tar, the news Coruscant. Luke attacked the citadel of the supreme Master Shimrra. Luke succeeds in overcoming Shimrra by decapitating it by making the scissors with its saber and that of its nephew, Anakin Solo.

Actor and voice of actor

Newborn in the Revenge of Sith , it is incarnated by Aiden Barton (wire of Roger Barton, Monteur of film). As regards episodes IV to VI, it is Mark Hamill which interprets Luke Skywalker. In all the series Jedi Knight, the voice of the character is that of Bob Bergen.

Significance

• Luke : Very frequent name in the New Testament. In Greek leukos wants to say white, light. Probably resulting from Loukas or Lucas which means Homme of Lucanie .
• Skywalker: Sky-Walker wants to say walker of the sky what is one of the nicknames given to the Scandinavian god Loki
