Lukas Podolski is one of the most promising players of German Football .
Born with Gliwice in Poland, the June 4th 1985, Podolski chose the German selection, with the manner of Miroslav Klose.
Lukas Podolski is the son of the former professional player Polish Waldemar Podolski, its family emigrated in Germany whereas it was two years old to be established in the area of Cologne. Lukas Podolski could obtain German nationality because his/her grandparent were born German.
Its first season among the elite with the 1.FC Cologne is the season 2003 - 2004. It appears there a few months after the beginning of the championship and succeeds in registering 10 goals in 19 matches (record for a 18 year old player in the history of Bundesliga).
That does not leave insensitive Rudi Völler, the selector at the time, which offers its first selection in to him national team in 2004. It disputed its first match against Hungary the June 6th 2004 at the 19 years age.
