Luiz Gonzaga

Luiz Gonzaga , born the December 13rd 1912 and deceased the August 2nd 1989 is a singer and Brazilian type-setter .

Luiz Gonzaga was a Brazilian, known popular type-setter like the " rei C baião " (king of the baião). It was born in a farm called Caiçara, in Exu, city of the state of the Pernambuco. Authenticate representing culture nordestine, it remains faithful to its origins while continuing its musical career in the south of the Brésil. It is the musical style called baião which propelled it in its career. The emblematic song of its career is Asa Branca , which it composed in 1947, with the participation of the lawyer Humberto Teixeira.

At the beginning of its career, it made solos with its Sanfona (Accordéon), played the Choro, the samba, Fox and other musical genres of the time, for then devoting itself to the rates/rhythms of the Nordeste.

The first song which it recorded on a small album was Vira E Mexe , song of the kind Xamego, instrumental.

The April 11th 1945, Luiz Gonzaga recorded its first song as singer in the studio of RCA: the Mazurca, Dança Mariquinha .
