Luigi
Luigi is the brother of Mario in the video games of the series Mario, created by Nintendo. Like his/her brother, Luigi is an Italian plumber but is often confined with the supporting roles. It is characterized by its green getup, in opposition to the red of Mario.
The family name of Luigi is Mario, from where “the Mario brothers”.
Plays with Luigi in the high-speed motorboat
Its true first role goes back to the play Mario Is Missing! left in 1993 on Super Nintendo. However it was more one educational play (geographical in particular) which another thing. will have then had to be awaited 2001 so that Luigi takes again importance in Luigi' S Mansion on the console Gamecube of Nintendo. One can as note as he was Co-hero in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga left on console Gameboy Advance in 2003 and it is also one of the heroes of Mario & Luigi: Brothers of Time on Nintendo DS in 2006.
In New Super Mario Bros., a code (L+R+A at the time to choose its file) makes it possible to play with Luigi in mode 1 player in the place of Mario.
And it is possible to control it in Super Mario Galaxy, after having to finish the plays has 100%. For that, It should be selected Luigi when the part is charged
History of the character
Of clone of Mario with character with whole share
He appears for the 1 time in Mario Bros in arcade and on other consoles, being the character of the second player. Regarded a long time as a simple Mario green (her appearance was initially pixellement identical to that of Mario), the identity of Luigi initially will continue in Super Mario Bros 2 Japanese (known in Europe and in the United States under the name of Lost Levels), and especially in Super Mario Bros 2 known as " USA" (the shutter that we know since always). Luigi seems an odd, left hero there but with the capacities of jump definitely higher than those of Mario.
The competition of other characters of Nintendo
Alas, Luigi will know a bad patch. It becomes again Mario green of service in Super Mario Bros 3 , and is relegated to the second plan following the emergence of new Nintendo heroes, in particular Donkey Kong, Wario and Yoshi. Become very secondary character, it will be thus absent from play Super Mario RPG (but present in the credits of end), and more still shocking for its fans, will be isolated of Super Mario 64 . On this subject, Luigi is in the center of rumors affirming that it is possible to see it in the play, which confirmed forever. Nintendo will repair then this injustice by integrating Luigi like playable character in the remake on Nintendo DS of Super Mario 64 (Super Mario 64 DS).
The return to the foreground
Nintendo planned a long time to confine Luigi only with roles of additional characters in the plays multi-players like Mario Kart , Mario Party or Mario Tennis . It was without counting the support of its unconditional fans, that Nintendo will end up hearing.Nintendo will thus make of Luigi the mascot of the launching of the Cubic Range, with the exit of the play Luigi' S Mansion .
Luigi is also a playable character of the new handset of platform Super Mario Galaxy , after having obtained 120 stars with Mario.
Concerning the character of Luigi
The voice of Luigi
It is the American actor Charles Martinet, already lapping machine of Mario, which gives one of its many voices to Luigi. The right ton of the voice of Luigi however put a little time to continue. In the Japanese version of Mario Kart 64, it is acuter than that of Mario, whereas in the Western versions, it is more serious. The acute voice will be gradually abandoned with the profit of the serious voice, which underlines more the awkward character and badly ensured of Luigi. However, in Super Smash Bros Luigi recovered an acute voice (almost identical to that of Mario), but that is certainly explained because the green plumber is a hidden character there (and thus less " travaillé" that his/her Mario brother).
To note
- In spite of the fact that Luigi takes part in the adventures of Mario, it prefers the calm one of its manor, or it spends its time reading the immense library of the basement. Luigi is also a good mechanic, it would be him which would have built the karts of Mario, Daisy, Peach, Yoshi, and of course them his.
- a rumor would mention history of love between him and the Princesse Daisy, but Nintendo it forever confirmed. Many indices, disseminated with the wire of the plays, go however in this direction.
- Luigi seems character hidden in Super Brothers Smash, or its capacities of jump exceed those of Mario (with a light effect of antigravity; Luigi rises and falls down to the idle), but its blows mainly remain based on those of Mario.
- In the series of Mario Kart, Luigi is a starting good choice; its karts are fast and handy, but on the other hand, it is bad in the skids (only the Green Flame makes exception to this rule).
- Luigi makes clearing house in Mario; whereas Mario uses her muscles mainly, Luigi is more subtle, and uses the intelligence and the trick to triumph over the adversity.
- Clever character, some think that it does not equalize Mario, and yet, it is equivalent for him in the majority of the fields, and even superior in some others.
- As opposed to what one could also accept, Luigi has a true dimension of love. Many players recognize themselves in this character froussard seemingly, but who can appear courageous when the lives of his/her brother or his friends are concerned.
- the sympathy which the public for the eternal seconds tests can also explain the popularity of Luigi.
- Since Mario Tennis , Luigi is also equipped with a rival, Waluigi, very secondary character of the Nintendo universe, which symbolizes the obscure side of our hero to the green cap, but also this period sinks which crossed the green plumber, when he was only brother of… before being really somebody.
