Ludovico Roncalli

The count Ludovico Roncalli (1654 - 1713) was noble a Italian which published in 1692 a collection of parts for the Guitare baroque - or guitar with five choruses, heading Capricci armonici will sopra will chitarra it spagnola . This collection is composed of the usual dances for this period (German, current, saraband, minuet, gigue…) preceded by a prelude, in all 54 parts gathered by your in nine continuations. The musicologist Oscar Chilesotti published transcriptions for guitar with six cords of these parts in 1881. The original edition is available in facsimile in an edition of Paolo Paolini (Florence 1982).

A Passacaille of the continuation in minor ground of Roncalli is used by Ottorino Respighi in its Airs and dances old .
