Ludospace

A ludospace is a vehicle of average gauge between the minis monospace and the town one. The Matra-Simca Rancho can be regarded as the precursor of this category, left two decades before the term does not appear.

Generally, the ludospaces are derivatives of light utilities. They thus are also called " utilities of loisir" , and are cubic, higher than broad, in general.

This class of vehicle can to be definite by step industrial of construscteurs, which launches them in support of the commercial vehicles from which they result, instead of creating a model with whole share (case of the compact monospaces, to see low)

Not to confuse with

  • the minispaces, models with whole share deprived of utility versions, located in lower part of the compact monospaces in the face and livable space (fields in which the ludospaces make the compact monospaces at least as well as). The example of the minispaces, in Europe, is the Opel Meriva. Let us quote also FIAT Idea, or, the Ford Fusion in this category.

  • the compact monospaces, whose profile is generally less high and less cubic, and who nowadays tend to reach sizes largely higher than those of the ludospaces. Their style is worked, since, just like the minispaces, they do not derive from utilities. This segment is very rich, quote the Renault Scénic, Citroen Picasso, VW Touran, Ford C-max and others Mazda 5.
