Geography
History
Etymology: Lucus magnus.
Under the Old Mode Lucmau included/understood two parishes: Saint-Andrew with the borough and Insos which was attached to the commune of Préchac (the Gironde). The very old occupation is attested by the church and the mound of Castéra. Will castéra is a toponym running in the moor. It indicates a strengthened place, ground or construction. By analogy it is thought that of Lucmau, of which the history is not known, date of the XI or XIIe century. The mound consists of a hillock with the foot of which a brook is which ensures defense of it.
