Lucius Postumius Albinus

Lucius Postumius Albinus was a politician of the Roman République.

In 234 av. J. - C., he is consul. In 229 av. J. - C., he is consul for the second time. In 228 av. J. - C., he is the commander of a Roman military campaign against the queen Teuta of Illyrie, but there was not of triumph for this victory on its return to Rome.

In 216 av. J. - C., it was to carry out its army of two legions more of the reinforcements in a forest of Gaulle Cisalpine, where a force of the warriors Boïens attracted it in an ambush and killed the majority of its soldiers. He and the remainder of the legions tried to escape by a nearby bridge, but they were killed by a detachment of Boiens which kept this bridge. According to Tite-Live the cranium of the consul is then plated out of gold and is transformed into a sacrificial basin. Elected official for a third consulate in 216 av. J. - C., it thus dies before entering in load and is replaced by Quintus Fabius Maximus Verrucosus Cunctator.
