Lucius Petronius Taurus Volusianus
Lucius Petronius Taurus Volusianus was an important character of Rome to the IIIe century. Perhaps originating in Italy even (he was owner of the city of Arretium), he had a military long career. He was protector Augusti (what constitutes one of the oldest mentions of the existence of the protectores ), under doubt of Valérien and Gallien, between 253 and 258. He became to vir eminentissimus and Consul in 261 with Gallien, of which he was certainly an essential support. He was finally Préfet of Rome in 267 and 268. The death of Gallien perhaps marked the end of its career.
