Lucien Midol

Born on September 24th 1883 with Castle-Trawl-net (the Jura); he is engineer of Arts and Métiers, then mechanic with the Company of the PLM from where he will be revoked in 1920. Of 1926 with 1938, he is member of the Central committee of the Communist party, then of 1924 to 1959, member of the Political office. After electbeing elected city council man of Juvisy, then appointed district of Corbeil in 1932, then that of Longjumeau in 1936, he becomes city council man with Athis-Mons, in 1939.

Decree on October 8th, 1939 for constitution of the Country Working Group, Midol, as all his/her comrades who had not repudiated the Pact germano-Soviet, was condemned on April 3rd, 1940 to 5 years of prison and 4.000 francs of fine for " reconstitution of the list dissoute". Interned to the House of Puy, it is then transferred to House-Square in Algérie. Released in 1943 by the allied troops, it is devoted in particular to the reconstitution of the trade unions of Algiers then is proposed with the Général de Gaulle, as police chief with the industrial production in the French Comité of the national Release.

He is mayor of Athis-Mons of 1944 to 1948, re-elected city council man in 1953, member of the constituent assemblies of 1945 and 1946, elected appointed Seine-et-Oise in November 1946, re-elected in 1951 and 1956. He sits at the secretariat of the Fédération CGT of the Railwaymen of 1944 to 1948, at the central committee and the Political office of 1945 to 1959. At 73 years, he asks not to have elective responsibilities more but continues to hold until his death the presidency of Friendly of the Veterans of PCF. Lucien Midol dies on December 26th 1979, at 96 years. He will be buried with the cemetery of the Father-Lachaise. A place of Athis-Mons bears its name. (Sources extracted the Dictionary Maitron).
