Lucien Barrière is a Head of undertaking and Business man French (1923 - 1991) heir and founder of the Groupe Lucien Barrière (one of the most important group of casino S, hotels de luxe hotels, tourist complexes of Luxe and restoration French).

Biography

It is born the January 14th 1923 with Rosières in Ardèche in a country modest family.

In 1962, it is chosen by his/her uncle François André who does not have a descendant and which is with the head of several specialized companies in the very prosperous exploitation of the casino S of Deauville, Cannes and La Baule (amongst other things) and of hotels de luxe hotels (Normandy Barrière, Royal Barrier, Hôtel of the Golf Barrier of Deauville inter alia) to succeed and to him to initiate it with its knowledge to make.

In 1959, it becomes initially administrator group. It is worthy successor of its uncle and continuous to successfully develop during thirty years the Barrière empire with the same policy as its predecessor: luxate, exception, perfection, elegance, refinement, user-friendliness, art of living with the Frenchwoman…

He marries Martha, a Danse uses Hungarian, which has already a little girl of a preceding union, Diane, born in 1957. Lucien Barrière adopts Diane whom it raises like her own daughter, that it indicates in his turn like single heiress of its luxurious empire and that it initiates with his knowledge to make.

In 1962, it founds the Groupe Lucien Barrière of which it is chairman, one of the first managing French companies of casinos and luxury hotels.

In 1975, Lucien Barrière contributes financially to the creation of the Festival of the American cinema of Deauville, at the sides of the mayor of Deauville Michel d' Ornano, and of André Halimi and Lionel Chouchan which brought the idea. In 1991, it dies of a Cardiac arrest with old 68 years, during a shake-down test to the effort. Diane Barrier-Desseigne, married with the Notary Dominique Desseigne, succeeds his/her adoptive father with the head of the group and successfully continues the policy of its two predecessors while discharging with the passage of tax of succession of more than one billion francs (150 million euros).
