Lucien-Louis Bonaparte

Lucien Louis Joseph Napoleon Bonaparte, 4th prince de Canino and Musignano (Rome, the November 15th 1828 - Rome, November 19th 1895) was cardinal man of the church and French.
Biography
Lucien-Louis Bonaparte was the second wire of Charles Lucien Bonaparte and his German cousin Zénaïde Bonaparte, and thus grandson of Lucien Bonaparte, second brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, by his father, and grandson of Joseph Bonaparte, older brother of Napoleon Bonaparte, by his mother. He was baptized by his back great-uncle the cardinal Fesch and the future Napoleon III, whose his two parents were cousins, was his godfather.In 1856, it was ordered priest with Rome by the pope Pie IX because of its noble origins. It was useful in Italy and France where he was in particular chaplain of the court of Napoleon III. It is an erased priest, who nothing predisposes to become a prince of the Church. With died his/her brother in 1865, it inherited the title of prince de Canino.
In 1868, it was created cardinal priest of S. Pudenziana by Pie IX to thank the French sovereign for the intervention of his troops in its States in 1867. Napoleon III wished the cardinalat for the archbishop of Paris Mgr Darboy. But Pie IX detested the archbishop because of his positions gallicanes and preferred to propose the godson of Napoleon III.
He was member of congregations of the Roman Curie, took part in the first Council of the Vatican in 1869-1870. He was Camerlingue college of the cardinals from January 28th, 1876 to March 12th, 1877 and took part in the Conclave of 1878. He chose the title of cardinal of S. Lorenzo in Lucina in 1879.
He died of a crisis of apoplexy.
