Luchon-Superbagnères

The Ski station of the the Pyrenees of Luchon-Superbagnères is located on the commune of Bagnères-with-Luchon in the department of the Haute-Garonne in the area the Midday-Pyrenees.

History

the station is open since the beginning of the 20th century, while profiting from the vagueness of discovered virtues of the Pyrénéisme in particular by English.
It was initially accessible by a train to toothed rack which brutally fell broken down during the post-war period and whose coaches déboulé dramatically until Luchon. The way constitutes today still an alternative to the way of great excursion GR10 or the main road.
the large hotel of Superbagnères was a long time the principal building built at the top. It often changed owner. Since the Eighties, many apartments came to join it.

Connection by Telpher carrier of Luchon with Superbagnères in 8 minutes with a flow of 1500 people/hour
Site starting of parapentes. The site of landing was done there is little still close to the pediment with Luchon, and was recently moved towards the airport, which is less convenient for the parapentists who then had more facilities to take again the connection by telpher carrier. The frequentation seems of this fact less strong.
