Luceram

Luceram is a common French, located in the department of the the Alpes-Maritimes and the area Provence-Alp-Coast of Azure. Its inhabitants is the Lucéramois .

Geography

The village occupies a picturesque site. The houses, built with mountainside, seem to be superimposed and are served by lanes in staircase.

the church : It is drawn up on a terrace dominating Luceram; one sees, on the right, the crenelated sections of wall and the tower, curiously split, of the strengthened enclosure. The building, of the end of the 15th century was overloaded at the 18th century of Italian stuccos. It contains very beautiful works of art: five large retables of the school of the Master niçois Louis Bréa, to which framings of stucco were added to the XVIIIe century. These retables constitute the most complete whole of the Comté of Nice. One will particularly notice the retable of Saint-Anthony (XVe century) which is in the right transept, and that of Holy-Marguerite, with ten compartments, allotted to Louis Bréa, behind the high altar (16th century). A happy restoration made it possible to find the primitive work of Bréa. Two Pietà: one plasters of it on fabric, of the 13th century, the other out of painted wood, of XVIe century. The treasure contains, in addition to an alabaster Virgin of XVIe century. remarkable parts of goldsmithery of which a silver statuette of Holy-Marguerite (1500), solid silver candlesticks of the 17th century.
