Luc Robitaille

Luc Robitaille (born the February 17th 1966 with Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a former player of professional Hockey of the National league of hockey which evolved/moved primarily with the Kings of Los Angeles.

Biography

He quickly dissociated himself for his offensive talent. Thus, during its career in the League of hockey major junior of Quebec (LHJMQ), whereas it carried the colors of the Olympiques of Hull, Robitaille was appointed better player Canadian junior of the year for the season 1985-86. It had then piled up an impressive total of 191 points. In spite of this honor, it was fished out only very tardily at the time of the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1984, by Kings, with the 171e position. If Robitaille were fished out so late, it is that one thought that it did not patinate rather quickly to play in the National league.

At its first season in the LNH, Robitaille gained the Trophée Calder after having collected 84 points (45 goals and 39 assistances). It piled up more than 40 goals to each of the seven subsequent seasons, including 3 seasons of more than 50 goals. During the season 1992-1993, it knew without any doubt the best moments of its career, with a harvest of 125 points (63 goals and 62 assistances), thus breaking the mark of Steve Shutt for the greatest number of goal for a left winger. It also beat the record of the greatest number of points by a left winger, than held John Bucyk before. In 1993, it was one of the best markers of the eliminatory series, whereas Kings went until the finales of the Coupe Stanley, before being inclined vis-a-vis the Canadian of Montreal.

In 1994, Robitaille was exchanged with the Penguins de Pittsburgh in return of Rick Tocchet and a choice to the fishing out. After only one season, it was exchanged with the Rangers of New York, with which it played two years before being compromised again in Kings of Los Angeles in return of Kevin Stevens. In the hope to gain the Stanley Cut, Robitaille signed a contract with the talented Red Wings de Détroit in 2001. Its dream was carried when it out finally put the hand on the invaluable trophy at springs 2002 when Red Wings triumphed vis-a-vis the Hurricanes over the Caroline. In 2003, it is gone back to Los Angeles, where it always continues to excel as its card of 51 points in 2003-04 shows of it, at the 38 years age.

The April 17th 2006, Luc Robitaille disputed his last match in career in the LNH, against the Sharks de San Jose. In 19 seasons, it piled up 668 goals and 726 master keys for a total of 1394 points in 1431 matches.

It occupies today an administrative station within the group Anschutz, owner of Kings.Il is also owner of the Throws of Omaha, equips with the USHL. The next homage that one will return to him could be well its establishment with the Temple of the fame.
