Luc Morjaeu
Belgian draftsman, born on January 11th 1960 with Niel. It followed the Royal Graphic art to the Academy of Beautiful arts and the University National of Antwerp.
In the middle of the Eighties, it founds, with Dirk Michiels, MORMIC. There, he cooperates with a number of series of cartoons, under lequelles JACOBUS IN KORNEEL. True work came with ERIK off HET KLEIN INSECTENBOEK, according to the book of Godfried Bomans.
With MORMIC, it also made not badly of drawings on order for the merchandizing of SAMSON in GERT, PINGU and several figures of DISNEY. Meanwhile, he collaborated with Marc Legendre in the BIEBEL and KAS. For the publisher De Zuidnederlandse Uitgeverij, it made a great number of drawings for covers and for books of play and puzzle and for Hallmark it drew many greetings cards. In 1997, studio MORMIC stopped and finally Luc Morjaeu could concentrate on his more liked figures; the witches sympas BIEP and ZWIEP. 5 albums will be published but business success was made wait. Instead of this series, Luc Morjaeu made a series of the albums around M-KIDS; a youthful pop group. With Luk Wyns, it made an absurd album according to the program of TV OF FAMILIE BACKELJAU. From 2000, Luc Morjaeu is one of the collaborators of Jef Nys for series GILL and OJ (JOMMEKE). A little after Hans Bourlon, of Studio 100, required of him to guide and develop the studio. In little time, the studio becomes most notable for the whole Flanders, thanks to the talents of Luc Adriaens, Bruno de Roover, Peter Custermans, Ward De Graeve, Marc Bruyninx and Thomas Ducaju. Each day appears, in the newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, 5-MINUUTJES PLOPSA-TIJD, a mixture of cartoons, plays of general information and each week the studio makes a youthful appendix DAG KIDS for magazine DAG ALLEMAAL. The studio bénéficiet of a beautiful collaboration with Charel Cambré with which Luc Morjaeu made SPRING. It also made, a collaboration with his good friend PUG, RAFKE of RAAF. whose authors, very proud of this project, published to them-even a small book.
In 2005, it draws Bob and Bobette, on scenarios of Peter Van Gucht
