Lu Buwei
Lu Buwei (呂不韋) is an important character of the period of unification of China, under the emperor Qin Shi Huang, who followed the Period of the Kingdoms Combatants. According to certain Chinese beliefs, he was the true father of the first Emperor, because the mother of this last was one of her former concubines.
Lu Buwei had presented it to Zichu, prince of the kingdom of Qin, which was then hostage with the kingdom of Zhao, during the Period of the Kingdoms Combatants. When he arrives finally at the capacity, Zichu made to Lu Buwei its Prime Minister, and with its death, Lu Buwei became regent of the Royaume of Qin.
During its functions at the court, Lu Buwei made write the Annales Lu Springs and Falls (Lüshi Chunqiu), which tried to organize the various philosophical systems of the time. This text is often confused with the Annales of Springs and the Falls allotted to Confucius, which belong to the Traditional Five. The goal of this work was to make a synthesis of all the knowledge of Qin, and to create a philosophy of State.
When Qin Shi Huang arrived in the majority and became officially emperor, it ordered the death of Lu Buwei. When Qin Shi Huangdi visited its tomb later a few years, it ordered with his son to respect the Lu Buwei memory.
After its death, Lüshi Chunqiu fell into the lapse of memory under the Qin government, but returned in grace under the Dynastie Han, which succeeded Qin.
