Low tension

The European standards define the field of the low tension (abbreviation BT ) like the tensions ranging between:

  • 50 and 1.000 Volt S in mode of Alternating voltage,
  • 120 and 1500 volts in mode of Tension continues.

It is divided into BTA and BTB, respectively into lower part and with the top of 500V into alternate and 750V uninterrupted.

The tensions whose value is lower belong to the category of the Très low tension: TBT.
