Low frequency
The low frequency (BF) (or LF, Low frequency in English, or long waves (GO) or long waves (OL), Long Waves (LW) in English), is the band of Radiofréquence S which extends from 30 to 300 Khz (Wavelength of 10 with 1 km).
They are used by the radio stations in amplitude modulation, for long-range communications. However, for a few years, their use has tended to disappear, with the profit of the band FM. The receivers general public propose from now on only seldom this range.
It is still useful to preserve a receiver Long waves which is operational today. In the event of catastrophe, the official frequency to obtain information is " Inter" France; 162 Khz (transmitting of Allouis).
