Low Terrestrial orbit

The low terrestrial orbit ( Low Earth orbit , LEO, in English) is a type of Terrestrial orbit located between 350 and 1.400 kilometers of altitude. It is generally considered that the low orbit lies between the atmosphere and the Ceinture of Van Allen.

Use

The low orbits are used by the satellite mobile like the meteorological satellite with runs and those of the system of planetary telephone Iridium and Globalstar.

It is also on this orbit that were carried out the majority of the inhabited space missions.
