Low-Poitou
The Low-Poitou is the Western area of the Poitou, corresponding to the the Vendée.
With the Middle Ages, Low-Poitou also included the County of Herbauges which extended until southern bank from the the Loire and the Pays from Retz historical, as well as the area of the Mauges.
the culture is the same one as in Haut-Poitou, one speaks the Parlanjhe there (the Dialecte Poitevin or Poitevin-saintongeais). For as much, the Low-Poitou was influenced much more than the remainder of the Province poitevine by the Breton influence, English, Norman, Dutch, Basque and Spanish, because of proximity of the Atlantique.
Low-Poitou had very strong bonds with the Quebec, the Acadie, the Louisiana, the the Antilles and the Meeting.
