Love of Phèdre

the Love of Phèdre ( Phaedra' S Coils ) is a Play of Sarah Kane, created the May 15th 1996 with Spoils Theater with London.

It is a modern version of the myth of Phèdre, violent.

Extract:

PHÈDRE (in HIPPOLYTE) - You are difficult. Psychopath, cynical, bitter, fatty, declining, spoiled. You remainders with the bed all the day and planted in front of the TV all the night, you drags in this house with crash the eyes bouffis of sleep and without thought for anybody. You suffer. I adore you”.

Extract of a report of representation to the Aktéon theater (Paris):

“Phèdre, excellently played, passes to the act (oral), the confessor of Hippolyte, in the cell, makes in the same way. The young hero, remarkable by his “tail of prince”, that everyone disputes, prefers to enjoy in his socks (he also likes there moucher). However it has many sexual relationships, with women and men. He likes to see the head which one makes at the supreme time, it is all. Its problem, it is the trouble whose a psychiatrist does not manage to cure it. That his/her mother-in-law hangs herself, that he itself is condemned, he is agreeably diverted of his video games and the hamburger devoration. His/her sister does not have escaped with her body. God is violently challenged. The myth is revisited, with the brutality of modernity” (J. - C. Ternaux).
