Synopsis

Mrs. Bakshi has only one idea at the head: to marry his/her four daughters - Jaya, Lalita, Maya and Lacky. Like any mother, Mrs. Bakshi is demanding: his/her future son-in-law must be Indian and especially… rich. When William Darcy sees Lalita with a sumptuous reception where his/her best friend Mr. Balraj meets Jaya, which is not other than the older sister of Lalita, it has eyes only for her. But not it. It finds it conceited, arrogant pretentious, and scorning of India and its habits, which Lalita does not support, very proud of its country. Nothing to see with this young English, Johnny Wickham, met on a beach of Goa. It proves to be an intimate enemy of Darcy and does not hesitate to blacken its character already not very resplendent for Lalita. Meanwhile, an Indian occurs who succeeded in America, Mr. Kholi, ridiculous and of a obvious lack of class, which comes to seek an Indian wife with the country. Holding head with his/her mother, Lalita will refuse it with the support of his/her father. Finally, it will realize that Darcy and Wickham are not inevitably those which it believes.
