Love and life of a woman
the love and the life of a woman ( Frauenliebe und - leben ) is a cycle of Lied er of Robert Schumann, on a collection of poems of Chamisso. The cycle is composed of eight Lieder (without titles), which puts in music eight episodes of the life of a woman; in each poem, it is the woman who speaks. This cycle is an good example of Romantisme in music, with in particular the great importance of the personal expression, and the evocation of passion in love.

Evocation of the meeting with the loved man.
Translation: Since I saw it, I have the impression to be become blind. Where that I look at, I see only him! As in a daydream, its image floats in front of me, sinks initially then increasingly brilliant. All that surrounds me is now insipid and dark. The sets of my sisters do not interest me any more; I would prefer to cry in silence in my small room… Since I saw it, I have the impression to be become blind.

Evocation of the moment of the recognition in love.

He said, he seems to me: " I am tien for toujours". It seems to me… that I must still dream! That cannot be true. That cannot be true!
