Louvie comes from Latin and means remains of Lupinus , Soubiron comes from the Gascon sobiron = upstream, indeed the commune is above Louvie-Juzon.

History

In 1385, Louvie-Soubiron counted 9 fires and Listo 3. They depended on the Bailliage of Ossau.
Paul Raymond note that this village formed with Listo a Ruffe-baronnie since 1615, vassal of the Viscount of Béarn. To note that since 1538, the lord of these communes allots the title of prumer rufabaron .
