Louvemont
Louvemont is a common French, located in the department of the Haute-Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.
Its inhabitants is called Louvemontais.
Geography
Louvemont is located in the Arrondissement of Saint-Dizier and in the Canton of Wassy, at 15 km of Saint-Dizier and at 7 km of Wassy. The village counts approximately 750 inhabitants.Its surface is of 20,98 km ².
It is composed primarily of particular houses.
Louvemont is located on the Blaise, small river being thrown in the Marne.
History
Its name would come from Latin Lupus Mons who indicates the hill on which the village is and where prevailed of the wolves. The name of the river " Blaise" would also come from the word " loup" into Celtic bleiz and indicates places where these animals were found.
Louvemont was a high place of the cast iron of Art at the 19th century.
Economy
The village has an doctor's office, a hairdressing salon, several masons, a company of Public works and a haulage company.
April 1st, 2005, the post office is replaced by a Point-Station installed at a deposit of tobacco.
April 10th, 2007, it is a communal postal agenge which offers to the inhabitants of the village the postal services.
Administration
The commune is managed by a municipal council of 15 members.
Since several mandates, the mayor is Mr. Yvan Martinot.
Louvemont is equipped with an elementary school and nursery school, the school complex Pierre Niederberger.
