extract of historical Pouillé of the archbishop's palace from Rennes published in Rennes in 1884 by the canon Guillotin de Corson.

Ecclesia de Lormeio (listed in 1319) Formerly diocese of Saint-Malo, archidiaconé of Dinan and deanery of Bécherel. In 1884, archdiocese of Rennes, archidiaconé of Saint-Malo and deanery of Combourg.

ORIGINS: Though we are unaware of the beginnings of this parish, it is however certain that the church of Lourmais was given of rather good hour to the monks Benedictines of the abbey of Marmoutier of Turns. We see, indeed, these monks still having in 1319 the patronage of the church of Lourmais, whose vice-chancellor was then introduced by the prior of Combourg: “Ecclesia de Lormeio quam dat dominus prior Comburni”. At the XVIIIe century, the prior of Combourg still raised said them parish of Lourmais, but it did not introduce any more the vice-chancellor, that the bishop named then. Pouillé of the diocese of Saint-Malo (1739-1767) teaches us that the vice-chancellor of Lourmais had 800 books of income, and that Mr. de Trans was lord of the paroisse.

CHURCH: Dedicated to Sainte Anne, this church is composed of a simple nave with right bedside; the whole appears end of XVIe century or rather of the beginning of the XVIIe century; the window in warhead of the bedside is walled. One added to the nave in 1860 a small also ogival tower. In 1696, the lord de Combourg was made maintain in his right of superiority to Lourmais; but, as we have just said it, the rights of foundation and preeminence belonged to the XVIIIe century to the lord the Trans one. This last even had, in the middle of the chorus, on the side of the Gospel, a enfeu and a high tomb of ground which the bishop of Saint-Malo requested in 1752 Mrs. de Trans to make move back, because the priests had sorrow to enter the sacristy. There were some foundations in this church, one, inter alia, for the maintenance of the lampe.

VAULTS: 1 - The vault of Landrouyère was near the manor of this name, and one still sees the vestiges of them; it was founded masses, and on February 27th, 1637 Claude Servayan was equipped with this chapellenie. 2 - The vault of Breil has just been recently built close to the new manor of this same nom.
