Louison Bobet
Louison Bobet (March 12th 1925 Saint-Méen-the-Large with - March 13rd 1983 with Biarritz) is a cyclist French.
Louison Bobet started in the working life as baker's boy in family bakery, carrying out frequent bicycle deliveries.
He will be professional cyclist of 1947 with 1961, recording 122 victories lasting this period. In addition to the shirt of the team of France which it carried to the Tour de France or the championships of the world, he was member of several teams: “Stella” of 1948 with 1955, “Draper” of 1955 with 1960 then “Ignis” in 1961. Its professional path stopped the August 10th 1962 then it started a reconversion by imagining a new concept of health-leisure and by creating the first establishment of thalassotherapy, in Quiberon followed by a second center to Biarritz.
His/her brother Jean Bobet, five years his junior, gained Paris-Nice in 1955, Genoa-Nice in 1956, the Circuit of Morbihan in 1953, and was 3rd of Milan-San Remo in 1953).
